Amid the ongoing probe into the allegations levelled against Arvind Kejriwal’s close aide Bibhav Kumar by AAP MP Swati Maliwal, the Delhi Chief Minister on Saturday maintained his silence on the issue and said that he wasn’t present when the incident happened. Kejriwal further clarified his stance stating that the police are investigating “two versions” of the incident and he is awaiting the court’s response on the matter.

The AAP supremo further dodged questions related to ongoing controversy regarding Swati Maliwal’s allegations against his aide Bibhav and refused to comment anything till court orders.

“Delhi police have two versions of the incident – one of Swati Maliwal ji and the other of Bibhav. I am sure that the police will investigate the matter without any bias,” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was quoted as saying during an interview with India TV.

Refusing to comment on the issue, the Delhi Chief Minister said, “I would wait for the court orders. The matter is sub-judice and I would not like to comment on it. I am waiting for the court’s order. We all will accept the court’s decision.”

‘I’M STILL TRAUMATISED…’: SWATI MALIWAL RECALLS ASSAULT AT CM’S RESIDENCE

Meanwhile, Swati Maliwal during an exclusive interview with CNN-News18 recalled her horrific experience of the alleged assault at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence and said that she is still “traumatised and anxious”.

“I am not doing well, I feel anxious. I wake up with a sick feeling in my stomach. The moment I am alone I feel anxious and scared. I am feeling a lot of pain and going through a lot of trauma,” Maliwal said, adding, “I have handled 1,70,000 cases being DCW chairperson, I have talked to survivors, but I did not fully understand it till now. It will take a lifetime for me to recover, as it was done by my friends.”

BIBHAV KUMAR IN JUDICIAL CUSTODY TILL MAY 28

Nearly five days after Swati Maliwal alleged that she was assaulted at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, the Delhi Police on May 18 arrested Bibhav Kumar and remanded him in police custody for five days.

A Delhi court on Friday in connection with the alleged Swati Maliwal assault case extended the judicial custody of Bibhav for four more days till May 28.

On May 13, Maliwal called the Delhi Police and reported that she was first stopped from meeting the Chief Minister and then assaulted at his residence by his aide bibhav Kumar. While she did not initially file a complaint, a first information report (FIR) was registered on May 16.

The incident has started a massive political battle between the AAP and BJP with the former claiming that Maliwal acted on the behest of the BJP to malign the party’s image, while the latter is questioning the safety of women in the national capital.
