The draw for the 2024/25 Carabao Cup Round 2 has been confirmed, splitting the competition into Northern and Southern sections.
This stage sees the entry of Burnley, Luton Town, and 13 other Premier League clubs not involved in European competitions, alongside the winners from Round 1.
Nigerian Online reported the full list of fixtures, citing the EFL’s late Wednesday official statement.
According to the EFL, Round 2 ties will be played in the week commencing August 26, 2024, with excitement building as teams vie for the prestigious trophy.
The statement read, “The draw for Round Two of the Carabao Cup has been confirmed. Round Two ties will take place week commencing August 25. The Carabao Cup remains regionalised in the early rounds, with the draw split into a southern and northern section until Round Three.
“With 47 teams having already booked their places in Round Two, the last three places were taken by Sheffield Wednesday, Plymouth Argyle, and Middlesbrough after the trio won their Round One ties on Wednesday night.
“Round Two sees Burnley, Luton Town, and the 13 Premier League clubs not participating in European competitions enter the competition at this stage.”
As the competition progresses, the excitement builds towards crowning a new champion.”
