Hundreds of youths under the umbrella of Oyo State Coalition Against Hardship joined protests against hardship in Ibadan, the state’s capital on Thursday.
The protest, led by Comrade Akeem Lawal, popularly called ‘Aluta’, took off from the Iwo-Road area of the state capital at 8:45am.
The protest was peaceful in the state was so far peaceful.
National president of Yoruba Youth Socio-cultural Association (YYSA), Olalekan Hammed also confirmed that the ongoing protest was peaceful in South-West geopolitical zone.
Hammed, whose group vowed to resist violence in the region said no violence, destruction or loss of life has been recorded, so far, maintaining that protesters were maintaining peace and orderliness.
